主要研究领域为机器学习理论与应用研究，再生核算法及应用研究。在Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics和Applied Mathematics Letters等二区以上的国际著名SCI 检索期刊发表论文4篇。主持校级科研项目1项，主持省级科研项目1项，参与其他项目多项，参编教材3部。至今指导学生参加数据挖掘类、数学建模类竞赛获国际级、国家级、省级奖项80余项；被评为广东省数学建模优秀指导教师2次、校级优秀教师2次。
